Chaos-Music : Hey Mr. Luke how are you doing ?
Not too shabby.
Chaos-Music : First can you introduce yourself and your mighty band for the readers?
My name is Luke Jaeger, and I'm the brainchild of what is known as 'Sleep Terror'.
Chaos-Music : Lets talk about the band's name, what's the meaning of Sleep Terror?
Speaking the obvious, it refers to night traumas and many disorders of the sort.
Chaos-Music : Can you give us a small history of Sleep Terror ?
I started it years ago in my room with a drum machine and eventually aquired a real drummer, and we took it to the stage shortly after.
Chaos-Music : Please name a few Guitarists that have been the most influential to your playing?
Eddie Van Halen, Yngwie M., Al Dimeola, Bill Frisell, Fredrik Thordendal, to name a few.
Chaos-Music : What bands have been the biggest inspiration for Sleep Terror?
Well probably those who gave us strong influence such as Naked City, Mr. Bungle, Cryptopsy, Disgorge (Ca), amongst others.
Chaos-Music : What kind of guitars are you currently playing on stage and in the studio?
Shitty ones. Ibanez RG ex4 w/ Emgs, Line 6 Flextone 2hd w/ sonic maximizer.
Chaos-Music : Who are the bands, zines and label that you're personally in touch with?
Too many to list man!
Chaos-Music : Why you didn't engage a bass player with Sleep Terror, as far as i know the bass sound has played a important role in the technical stuff.
We've never had a single worthy bassist step up and audition for us. Same for vocals.
Chaos-Music : How was the reaction of the crowd after the release of "Probing Tranquility"?
So far so good. I don't generally pay too much attention, I'm more worried about my own critique generally with what I release. Not to be selfish.
Chaos-Music : Are you thinking about recording the next Sleep Terror album ? If yes what can we expect from you ?
Well I'll record it, but next time in a professional studio with real drums. The production on Probing Tranquility is just a joke because I had to do it all on a 500 dollar budget from my own home. You can't really expect much from that, ya know? I'm surprised more people haven't noticed how shitty it really sounds. It's hard for me to even look at it as a professional album in any shape or form beyond the disc panel. We just need a good label to take care of us in terms of a proper budget. We really deserve great sound and sadly haven't achieved it yet due to being dirt broke.
Chaos-Music : Tell us something about your gigs. What was the best live experience.
We've had many great shows, and many catastrophies like any band. My personal favorite was in Detroit at the Modern Exchange. I played sober that night surprisingly, but I just felt so relaxed and confident. Everything came out so tightly and felt good.
Chaos-Music : How did you feel when you were in stage for the first time?
Nervous at first, then relaxed once on.
Chaos-Music : Have you ever played outside USA?
Unfortunately no.
Chaos-Music : Which records have marked your mind the most?
Depeche Mode 'Violator'
Faith No More 'Angel Dust'
Chaos-Music : How did you get involved with Vile? And Was it hard to adjust with the members of Vile?
Colin flew up to try me out on 2nd guitarist slot for their tour with Cannibal Corpse. It worked out and apparently seemed I was the best fit. As for the other half of your question, it was rough touring with 4 guys you barely knew or didn't know at all. I'd say the drummer (anonymous) was the most annoying and imbalanced of them all to tour with. Just never knew when he'd step up and break your fingers or put an uzi to your head for saying something the wrong way or depending on what kind of mood he was in. It was pretty weird. Everyone else was tolerable though.
Chaos-Music : What have been some of your best memories with Vile?
Well it was only one tour, haha. I'd say in Worcester, MA at the Palladium just because it was so bizzare after having 8 beers looking out to nearly a thousand kids right before we started. It was a blast.
Chaos-Music : What about your relationship with other metal bands from USA and Europe?
I have many friendships and contacts with tons of U.S. and European bands, even some Australian and Canadian as well.
Chaos-Music : If you'll be invited to playing here in morocco, what will be your answer ?
Well unfortunately everything revolves around money in this day and age, can't escape it. Time and travel can be expensive, which is why not everyone can tour all the time unless the offer is good.
Chaos-Music : Thank you so much for taking the time to answer these questions. We appreciate that. So what do you want to say to your moroccan fans? Cheers and I wish you all the best of luck!
Thank you all, and we always look forward to sharing our music with foreign fans of every region. More to come.. cheers! _________________ http://www.myspace.com/chaos_music
