Chaos-Music: How are you doing?

I'm fine thanks...

Chaos-Music: What's the meaning of your band's name?

Actually there's not a particular meaning besides it...we just like the way it sounds.

Chaos-Music: Could you please make a short introduction of your band to those readers of ours who are not familiar with your band?

The band was formed in 1991...we made 1 EP, 4 albums, several tours around Europe, in 1997 we've been the first Italian band playing at the Wacken Open Air...

Chaos-Music: How was the recording of "Lego"? Did something worth telling happen or did they just go as planned?

LEGO was the first time we produced an album by our own...that's why we probably made somthing wrong...unfortunately, you must do some mistakes to grow up.

Chaos-Music:How was the time between when you started to work on "Lego" and until it was released?

I guess it was harder and more nervous this time.To be fair we weren't too nervous...I mean, the record company did quite a good job with it, but the album simply wasn't ok.

Chaos-Music: Why did you choose "Crust" for the title of that album ?

CRUST is the heavist album SADIST ever released, so far the word "Crust" was perfect to represent the mood of the album

Chaos-Music: Can you tell me more about "Crust"? What is your feeling about it?

I still consider it the best SADIST album ever released, it is the perfect mix between all band's influences and stiles...

Chaos-Music: Did you get to play live much? Which bands did you play with? Any funny stories to tell or any bands give you a hard time?

We played quite a lot until 2000...then we stopped for 6 years, and we will come back on stage (at least with this band), this next 16th of July...we toured with so many bands I cannot name them all...

Chaos-Music: What were some early bands you were into? Are you still into the today? Any early rare stuff you have in your collection?

I actually play in a side project band called THEFAMILI....we are very catchy and funny as well...

Chaos-Music : What do you think of this whole internet and stuff?

From one point of view it is a good opportunity, but it brings a lot of problems as well...You cannot tell only good or bad things on such a topic...

Chaos-Music : what can you tell us about the lyrics?

I think everybody has the right to talk about almost everything…I like bands like MESHUGGAH also because of their watertight lyrics, but I generally do not pay too much attention to it…I mean, I know bands like SLIPKNOT or CANNIBAL CORPSE write about bullshits, but I find both very funny!

Chaos-Music: What was the favorite band you toured with?

In 1994 we supported CARCASS during their "Heartwork" tour in Italy...well, that was great...

Chaos-Music: What can you tell us about this "Black Screams" ?

When I recorded it I was just 17 years old...I think it sounds pretty bad, but as got some good ideas inside...

Chaos-Music : How far would you like to go with Sadist?

We are not gonna start from the point where we stopped 6 years ago, 'cause at the time we already lost our musical inspiration...this time we will get back the original SADIST sound...

Chaos-Music: What do you think in your whole career was the worst thing that the band did?

We made the wrong album. I think that's something supposed to happen to almost all bands...

Chaos-Music: What can you tell us about 'Above the Light'. How did you develop the songs, what inspired you?

It was the first SADIST album, and we tried to put almost every kind of influence in it, from progressive rock to death metal...

Chaos-Music: What do you see in the future for the band? Do you think you will just keep improving as a band? What do some new songs sound like?

We are just tring to do our best to write good songs, but always in the original SADIST vein...

Chaos-Music: When you're not out playing music and slaying metalheads, how do you prefer to spend an evening?

With friends, or with my girlfriend, having a good dinner...nothing special, I'm a quite person...

Chaos-Music: What's your best memory with the band?

Being the first italian band playing at Wacken Open Air was quite a good goal for us, and a great experience...

Chaos-Music: Your five favourite albums are?

"Alice In Hell", "Reign In Blood", "South Of Heaven", "Back In Black", "Crust"

Chaos-Music: Which bands would you say have influenced you the most?

SLAYER and ANNIHILATOR over all, but also some older ones like EL&P, YES, GOBLIN...

Chaos-Music: Let's talk about touring, which countries are you planning to visit this year?

We may do something in the Est of Europe by the end of Summertime, but in general we are going to release a new album before going in tour.

Chaos-Music: last message for the readers?

Watch out for the next SADIST album, we should release it by the end of 2006, and I'm sure you all will like it.

Chaos-Music: Thanks once again for answering my questions! I wish you and Sadist the best of luck in the future, and I hope to hear many more fantastic albums from you in the future!

Thank you too...
